Hiatus No More
All right, is everyone clear which fantasy pitchers they should and shouldn’t draft? I can only hope five months was adequate time for the lesson to sink in.
Actually, there was a good reason for my absence: I was terribly, terribly burned out. Not that you’d necessarily know it from the quality of or frequency with which I’ve posted material here, but I’d been churning out work for the past 2+ years, straight. The trilogy of novellas I produced (which you can download here) occupied my every waking hour from late 2004 until early 2006; then, rather than take a break — like a sensible person — I went on to write another novel (which I scrapped) and two more treatments, before I basically collapsed.
But don’t cry for me, Argentina — I’m back and better than before. I’ve even got a new project underway, pieces of which I’ll be sharing here. More on that later in the week, but don’t expect a serialized version of a novel; what I’ve got in mind will probably result in numerous emails asking, in so many words, “Uh … was that fiction?” Yes: bite-sized fiction. That makes sense in a larger context. A larger context you won’t be privy to for some time. Enjoy!
In the meantime, while I may try to scale back the word-count of individual posts, I should manage 2-3 posts a week — itsy bits of fiction, musings on the world of politics and sports, and other errata. I just hope your RSS feed hasn’t forsaken me …
